Welcome to the Herd: Meet the Animals of Monterey Mini Cow Company
Updated: Sep 29
Meet the animals who are part of our ranch story: cattle, sheep, mini donkeys, pigs, alpacas, and yaks. This is our herd album, not a sale list. It includes animals at the ranch, those who have found new homes, and newcomers we are still waiting to welcome. Beau and Vivienne are coming soon.

Beau — Coming Soon. Joining our herd; not for sale.

Vivienne — Coming Soon. Joining our herd; not for sale.

At Monterey Mini Cow Company, the heart of the ranch is the herd itself.
Every animal brings a different kind of personality to the pasture. Some are playful. Some are calm and observant. Some are pure charm from the moment they walk up to the fence.
If you have been following along, this is your official welcome-to-the-herd update.
Meet the Mini Cow Herd
Our cattle all have a place in the ranch story—bulls, cows, heifers, and steers, including those who have found new homes. Meet the Herd is our family album, not a list of animals for sale.
From full-size Highlands to mini and micro cattle, High Parks, Belted Galloways, and Longhorns, we know them by name. Beau and Vivienne are coming soon; we look forward to welcoming them.
Our Valais Blacknose Sheep
Our Valais Blacknose family has grown. Meet Agnes, Eleanor, Veronica, MegaMan, Murci, NoLi, Nessie, NeLand, NaTe, NaSh, Noodle, and Mochi, along with two young ewes whose public names are still to come. You can get to know the flock and its individual records at valaisblacknosesheepofmonterey.com/flock. Our earlier sheep introductions are part of the ranch story too.
Gertrude — The OG
Matriarch of the flock, full of personality, and the foundation of our Valais Blacknose program.
Maribel — The Legend
Elegant, beautiful, and impossible to ignore. A true crowd favorite.
Walter — The Chill Guy
Calm, confident, and always watching over the crew.
Our Babydoll Southdown Sheep
Different wool. Unique souls. One happy herd.
Norma — The Sweet One
Tiny but mighty, full of personality and ranch charm.
Matilda — The Gentle Soul
Sweet, soft-hearted, and happiest close to her people.
Hazel — The Quiet One
Shy at first, but loyal and oh-so-kind.
Opal — The Diva
Beautiful, bold, and fully aware she is fabulous.
Our Mini Donkeys — Lilly and Willow belong here too, alongside the cattle and sheep. They are a much-loved part of our ranch family.
Our Yaks — Meet Anna, Rose, and Kateri, the three females we are keeping as part of our ranch family.
Our Pigs — Lulu, Penny, and Tater Tot each have their own place in the family. Lulu was here before the mini cow program began; now all three share in ranch life.
Our Alpacas — Brittney, Jeanette, and Eleanor are the three girls who joined us in August. Their group photo is in the herd album above.
Our Dorper Sheep — Our Dorper-cross surrogate flock is part of the ranch family as well. We will share their individual names and portraits as we get their introductions together.
More of Our Cattle Family — Rarity, Twilight Sparkle, Rainbow Dash, Slate, Yellow, Love, Blossom, Callie, Dolly, Faith, Holly, Lillian, Lola, Maddy, Maple, Mel, Moca, Peaches, Pearl, Daisy, Big Baby, Lil Baby, Petunia, Poppy, Teen Mom, and Windsor Heights Mary also have a place in our ranch story. We are still gathering individual photo introductions for these faces.
Part of the Story, Even After a Sale — Duke, Cinderella, Mac, Tika, Tinker, Milkshake, and Miller have been sold. They stay in our herd album, but they are not available for sale.
The Herd Is Still Growing
We have four more faces to share: Karen, Bev, Ash, and Linda. Their cards join the rest of the herd in the gallery above. Oak and Ash were both born here at the ranch, and we are so excited to share them with you.
John Henry, Harriet, Cowgirl, Oak, and Jolene are also part of our growing herd. John Henry and Harriet were born in April, Cowgirl in May, and Oak and Jolene in August.
We will keep sharing the little details that make each one different as they settle into life at the ranch.
Why This Matters to Us
We do not see these animals as just inventory or attractions. They are the heart of the ranch.
That is why we love introducing them by name, sharing their personalities, and letting people follow the ranch as it grows.
If you are interested in our mini cow experiences, special events, ranch visits, or future placement conversations, keep following Monterey Mini Cow Company as the herd keeps growing.
