Visit our mini cow farm in Salinas: what to know before you come

Come spend time with the herd. At Monterey Mini Cow Company, Gen and I love sharing the animals and a little of our ranch life with you. If you are looking for a mini cow farm visit near Monterey, our family-run ranch is in Salinas, California.
Visits are by appointment only and supported through a ranch visit donation. Please reserve before coming to the ranch. Other donor families may visit at the same time; an appointment does not reserve the whole ranch for your group.
What can you do during a visit?
Meet miniature cows and other friendly ranch animals, offer approved treats, brush them and take photos. Our team guides the interaction and helps everyone give the animals the space and care they need. Children should stay with a supervising adult and follow the handler’s instructions.
Looking for cow cuddles?
Many people find us while looking for cow cuddles or a chance to meet Highland cows. Our visits offer supervised, hands-on time such as petting and brushing when appropriate. We follow the animals’ comfort and our handlers’ guidance; hugging, lying with a cow or meeting a particular animal is not guaranteed.
Is this a ranch tour?
Our visits are planned time with the animals, not open-access tours or a chance to wander through working pastures. Stay with the visit area and follow the team’s directions. If you have a particular group request or access question, ask us before reserving.
Reservations, groups and timing

Visits support the Monterey Mini Cow Company Foundation and its programs. Read the reservation terms before making your donation, including the vehicle limit and non-refundable policy.
A few things to bring and remember
Wear closed-toe shoes suitable for a working ranch, dress for the weather and arrive at your reserved time. Bring your camera, wash your hands after animal contact and use only treats approved by our team. Please ask about any accessibility or special needs before your visit so we can discuss your group’s needs.
Photo sessions and events are separate
A donor farm visit is different from a dedicated photo session or an off-site wedding or event package. Tell us what you are planning and we will help you find the right option.
